Figure skating? I am interested in figure skating. I am 17 years old and i have started gymnastic a week ago, but the problem is that in my town there isn't a school(i don't know how you say it)for skating, there is only one in the capital of my country. And it is really difficult to go there. I first saw skating in TV 4 years ago and i was interested very much but now i feel that i want it more and i don't know what to do. First of all, can i start even if i am 17 years old? Second, i don't think that gymnastic is going to help me a lot. Please, i need advice.

Where can I get private figure skating lessons in Boston ? I am looking for a place, anywhere near boston that I can get private lessons to learn how to figure skate. Does any body know where I could go ?

How popular is figure skating? how popular do you think it is to be a figure skater? competitive figure skating. there are a lot of people at my rink who figure skate, but at my school i know only me and another girl. is it as popular as school sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc. i was just wondering.

Has it ever happened that a parent then a child made it "all the way" in figure skating? What I mean is was there ever a parent that made it to the Olympics or World's or something of that caliber and then had their own biological child make it as far in figure skating? I can't think of any. I think it may have happened a couple of times in hockey that a father went professional and then their son did but I am looking for figure skating.

Can we join the figure skating championships if we are good enough? I don't live in America but I learn ice skating and in my city we have levels instead of going to championships and ...etc. (We have contests in my ice rink instead) I adore Kim Yuna and I wonder how did she get the chance to go to Nationals or ...etc. So... Are we allowed to join the figure skating contests (that we see on TV) if we are good enough to be a champion??

where can i get a decent price for pattern 99 figure skating blades? i don't know anything about figure skating. just that i need to buy these blades.
