Ice Skating London

Outdoor ice skating in London (UK answers only please)?

I know there are several outdoor ice skating rinks in central London this Xmas. I just wondered if there were some that were significantly better than others that people had been to. Thanks :o)

  1. In my opinion the best is Somerset house because it has very nice rental skates, they are proper hockey skates and apparently very comfortable. It is a beuatiful place to skate in, the rink is big and it even has a mini rink for little children to learn in and a ncie cafe. The one downside is getting there which can be a pain but overall good. Natural History Museum is also good but not such good skates and it has a problem at the moment of leaves all over the ice (that shoud be better soon). The rink is also big and has a mini one as well and nice cafe and a small Chritmas market just next to it with a few places to get food. Broadgate is absolutely tiny and gets absurdly crowded as well as being difficult to get to so I would avoid there but I haven't tried the others yet. Hope this helps :)
  2. There is Somerset House. Which is a nice rink with amazing surrondings. http://www.somersethouse.org.uk/ice_rink/default.asp heres the link for it. I think it looks amazing but it does get quite busy. Tower of London has one which would be a nice back drop. This ice rink is quite small though but I think it looks nice. http://www.toweroflondonicerink.com/index.aspx There is also the one at The Science and History Museum. It does have some leaves on it but they go into the ice so it's not that bad. I went there last year and they had a mini rink. They could really resurface it though. I went past it when it first opened and I couldn't see the mini rink this time. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-on/ice-rink/index.html Then in Hyde Park there is a Winter Wonderland. Which has an ice rink and lots of little stalls. That sell really nice Christmas stuff. The ice rink is bigger than The Museum one but I think it gets more crowded as Hyde Park is quite popular with the Market and stuff. http://www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com/ Broadgate also has an ice rink. Personally I have never seen it and I don't know where it is but from the pictures the ice rink looks round and looks like it has some nice atmosphere. http://www.broadgateinfo.net/app/broadgateestate/events/arenadetails.cfm?ID=%23%2B0*M%0A Canary Wharf has an ice rink as well. Not sure what its like but it looks quite pretty. It looks like they do lessons and parties there. http://www.canarywharficerink.com/ Hampton Court has an ice rink. I know its out of London but I thought I would include it as it looks pretty! http://www.hamptoncourticerink.com/index.aspx These are all the rinks I could find I hope this helps.
