What kind of cloth should I use to dry my ice skating blades?
I currently use a small towel (kind of like one to dry your hands with I guess) to wipe off my ice skating blades after use. Is this adequate, or should I be using something different?

- That's perfectly fine. As long as it gets the ice off, it's great. There's these special chamois cloths for skates but they aren't a whole lot better. As long as you put soakers on the skates after you wipe the ice off, your blades are being cared for properly.
- As long as the cloth wipes the water away, it's fine. Some people use paper towels, others use car chamois. (They think the chamois leaves behind a layer of oil, thereby protecting the blades from rust. I don't think it's true.) After you dry the skates (boots and blades), put soakers on to absorb and wick away any condensation.
- thatss fine i just use a kitchen towell :L HAVE FIN ICE SKATINGG :D xxxxxxxxxxxxx
- That's fine. I just use a rag from the hall closet... 0;) I was curious and tried a chamois once, to see if it was really better or not... I honestly think the rag is just fine, as long as you're getting your skates dry with it. The rags are a lot cheaper than the $35 it costs for a chamois; you can just keep reusing and rewashing the rags, too.
- If you have like fleece covers that go over your blades that would also work or just a regular hand towel.
- yes it is! I have only been skating for a while, but when I get off the ice I wipe my skates with a hand towel. Then when I get home I put my blade soakers on! :) x
