Ice Skating London

What do you wear when casually ice skating indoors?

I'm going ice skating an indoor rink. Will jeans and a sweatshirt be fine?

  1. yes that's what I wear :)
  2. Jeans and a sweatshirt are generally fine. But if you are a beginner, and fall down, I would recommend to wear sweatpants or yoga pants instead of jeans. Bring a sweatshirt obviously. It would be good to also wear long songs.
  3. Yep! Make sure the jeans are not too long though. I'm short, so all my jeans are way too long and if I wear them skating they get caught on the blade and it makes me fall. Also, you want jeans that are comfortable so that it's easier to skate.
  4. Yu- If ur a beginner you might want sweatpants because it more easy to fall and not get as wet!
  5. If you are taking a lesson then I recommend sweatpants and a thick shirt and gloves. But if you are just skating casually then jeans and a sweatshirt are definitely fine! I TOTALLY recommend gloves though!!!! And a hat if you don't want your nose to get red hahahaha
  6. Jeans restrict movement too much, generally they're not a good idea (unless you own a super stretchy pair). I wear tights, leggins over them, and a turtleneck.
  7. Don't wear jeans - sweats or stretch pants are better. Wear a t-shirt under the sweatshirt, so you can take layers off if you get too warm. Wear a jacket and bring gloves. A hat or helmet to protect your head is a good idea, too.
  8. I think that should work. The public skating rink in my area (the one closest to me anyways) is always really warm, to me (but I'm a competitive figure skater, so maybe I'm just used to it being a lot colder). So layer, and you might want to bring an invaluable bag or something that you can leave out on a bench if you want to take your sweatshirt/jacket off. Otherwise, if it doesn't bug you, I guess you can tie it around your waist. For pants, I'd say leggings or skinny jeans. Skinny jeans will be stiffer, though, by far. Personal preference, I guess, though, since you won't be doing anything requiring a whole lot of flexibility on a public skate. Don't forget to put your hair up, too! ;) And you may want light cotton gloves, again, depending on the temperature.
  9. i would recommand sweat pants, the are more streachable than jeans and will allow you to move easily
  10. Jeans are OK! but if you start faling they could split. I think leggings and a long t-shirt is fun and a short skinny jacket fallowed by a northface resembelance! HOPE THIS HELPS!
  11. Depends how cold it is ; i'd wear a light jacket just incase oh and jeans arent the best choice ; i suggest sweatpants, especially if you fall alot. plus, they look better with skates :)
